Today's Restaurant Texas Edition

NormaCafe_TX2_1Dallas, TX – To celebrate its 55th year of serving Texas-style home cooking, on June 21st., Norma’s Cafe rolled its prices back for the day. The original Dallas dining icon offered customers its famous chicken fried steak, meatloaf and chicken and dressing (and the side dishes) for $1.79 at either of the Norma‘s Cafe locations.

“Offering three of our most popular dishes for $1.79 is the least we could do to say, ‘Thank you’ to our loyal customers who have helped us achieve this milestone,” said Ed Murph, entering his 25th year as owner of Norma’s Cafe. “Newcomers to those who have visited Norma’s Cafe for generations are all welcome to celebrate with us as we continue to serve our community with quality food and Texas hospitality.”

Norma's Cafe is a Dallas home cooking institution. Founded in 1956, Norma's Cafe serves up hot, fresh, and savory home-style meals, with a Texan flare. The original location has been operating in Oak Cliff for more than 50 years. The newest location just opened on Dallas Parkway in North Dallas. “We can thank our recent expansion to owner and operator, Ed Murph, said owners.” Ed took over Norma's Oak Cliff location in 1986 and has continued the tradition of Norma's ever since.

Ed Murph's hospitality career goes back four decades, when he founded and operated legendary night spots, Beggar Club, Bell Ringer, and Bachelors in the 1970's. An industry leader, Murph is a past president of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association and past state board member of the Texas Restaurant Association.

Norma's Cafe is a type of cafe that one can stop by for a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a full-on family meal and leave equally satisfied.

Norma's Cafe staples include big breakfasts, characterized by fluffy biscuits and gravy, satisfying dinners with award-winning chicken fried steak, and homemade, Mile-High Cream Pies™ for dessert.

Norma’s Cafe is located at 1123 W. Davis Street or 11721 Dallas Parkway, both in Dallas, and can be reached at www.NormasCafe.com.
